So very very sad

I had really hoped against all odds that this time would be different. I had really hoped that a young two year old boy would not have to grow up without his Mommy and his baby sister. I had really prayed that she would be found alive, and well... and return home to her family.

It wasn't to be....

Body Found in Ohio; Missing Woman's Boyfriend Charged With Murder

Saturday , June 23, 2007

AP

CANTON, Ohio  —

Authorities on Saturday arrested the boyfriend of a missing nine-month pregnant woman on murder charges and said they recovered a body believed to be hers.

Jessie Davis has been missing for a week from her home, where her 2-year-old son was found alone, his diaper dirty, bedroom furniture toppled and bleach spilled on the floor.

The Stark County Sheriff's Department said a body was recovered in neighboring Summit County at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff's office did not give a location but said they believed it to be Davis.

Television news footage taken from helicopters above Cuyahoga Valley National Park showed authorities carrying a body bag on a stretcher and loading it into a white van.

The aerial views also showed investigators riding off-road vehicles to reach an area of the park that is heavily covered with trees and brush.

Roger Riggins, an investigator with the Summit County medical examiner's office, confirmed a body was found at the southeast edge of the park.

Davis' boyfriend, Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, is to be arraigned Monday in Canton Municipal Court on two counts of murder, including the unborn child, the sheriff's department said. Davis was due to deliver a baby girl on July 3.

Cutts has said he had nothing to do with Davis' disappearance.

Telephone messages seeking comment were left at the office of Cutts' lawyer, Bradley Iams, and the home and office of the Rev. C.A. Richmond, who is Cutts' pastor. Iams' home number is unlisted.

Davis, 26, was reported missing June 15 after her mother, Patricia Porter, found her bedroom in disarray, the furniture overturned and her son, Blake, home alone.

Investigators said the toddler told them "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in rug."

A bed comforter and Davis' cell phone were missing. Items from her purse were scattered on the kitchen floor of her home in nearby Lake Township.

Tim Miller, director of Texas EquuSearch, an internationally active search group that organized the volunteer effort, said Porter and the rest of Davis' family were called together and told about the body in late afternoon.

"A lot of the community stopped their lives to looked for Jessie and that meant so much to her and the entire family that they knew they were not alone in this," he said.

Chief Deputy Rick Perez said the case was still being investigated. He would not comment on whether there were any other suspects.

Cutts, a Canton police officer, is the father of Davis' son, and her family says he also is the father of the unborn child. Authorities had questioned him and searched his home during the investigation.

Cutts has said he and his wife are separated and that she knew about the affair with Davis.

Cutts has been on paid administrative leave from his job.

"There is no denying that this has resulted in giving a black eye in the opinion of the local community as well as the opinion of the rest of the nation," Canton Police Chief Dean McKimm said of the arrest of a police officer.

He asked that people not judge his department on "the isolated acts of a rogue officer."

Rick Pitinii, Porter's attorney, said Davis' family had no comment.

"They have gone through an absolute roller coaster of emotions," he said. "I've seen them laugh, cry, be angry — everything you can imagine. ... It's tough."

"They need to be together, and they need to be alone, and they need to grieve."

Thousands of volunteers had searched for Davis over several days. Cutts joined volunteers in an earlier search.

Planned Parenthood accused in woman's death

This is absolutely one of the most horrendous cases I have come across in a LONG time! My thanks to Nancy Valko, RN. When I read this, my only response to her was ...

WOW!

I have included the link for the rest of the article, but I would not want to be the nurse practitioner, NOR the clinic, NOR THE HOSPITAL/MD's that treated her! All emphasis is mine in the excerpt below.....

WOW... I am speechless....

God bless!

MATTERS OF LIFE AND DEATH
Planned Parenthood accused in woman's death
Lawsuit says clinic worker triggered 'raging systemic infection'

SNIP....

During the initial exam, a "nurse practitioner, K. Sorenson," found an "odiferous creamy-colored discharge" indicative of a bacterial infection, according to the lawsuit.

Despite the clear indications of bacterial infection, the nurse practitioner inserted the dilators. "Thus, the seaweed stick cervical dilators became like wicks that would [turn] the existing local infection … into a raging systemic infection rapidly leading to sepsis and toxic shock syndrome," the court filing said.

Goode then was sent home with instructions to return the next day for the actual abortion. However, the next day, she was so ill from the infection she was "physically and mentally' unable to return.

"By Feb. 4 … Edrica was so ill that she could not stand and was mentally confused. During this entire time, Planned Parenthood had knowledge that women with retained seaweed stick cervical dilators were at risk for developing systemic infection… Further, Planned Parenthood knew or should have know that patients with retained seaweed stick cervical dilators who had bacterial vaginosis at the time the seaweed stick cervical dilators were placed were at much greater risk," the lawsuit said.

"Notwithstanding this, Planned Parenthood made woefully inadequate efforts to contact Edrica Goode, determine her status, advise her that her illness was directly related to infection resulting from retained seaweed stick cervical dilators rather than the flu, and that she required immediate medical treatment."

She eventually was taken by ambulance to Riverside County General Hospital, where she had periods of unconsciousness, was confused and not able to speak appropriately. Four days later, without finding a cause, the hospital announced her discharge.

When her mother objected, "Riverside General Hospital physicians then indicated that they would transfer her to a psychiatry unit," the lawsuit said.

There, a psychiatrist ordered her back to the hospital to rule out infections and sepsis, and several days later, the dilators were found and removed.

However, the infection "had become so profound that ultimately Edrica died on Feb. 14, 2007."

The action alleges the defendants "carelessly and negligently … failed to provide medical services, and negligently cared for and treated and failed to care for and treat plaintiff's decedent, and so carelessly and negligently failed to conform to the standards of practice in their community so as to cause the death of Edrica Goode."

The claim also noted that the victim and her mother were not given the information they needed to make informed decisions.

Planned Parenthood did not return a WND call requesting a comment.

Picture of Dylan and his doctors

There will actually be two messages in this one. I needed to make sure that it would be ok to put Dylan's picture on my blog, which is MUCH more public than our small group of Catholic Friends.

Should anyone feel so impressed..... I do have a way to reach the family, as you can see. I am NOT putting this up to solicit, and frankly, and not anticipating any responses of that nature. The first one is today's, the second with the picture follows...and WHAT a HANDSOME young man Dylan is!!! A real imp, and part of the reason I LOVED working PEDS as a nurse! What a blessing he is, and how hard this must be on all of his family, especially his siblings and parents. Please continue to pray!

God bless!
Here is the first one:

 ( WI Catholic)

Leann wrote back that posting Dylan's picture and updates are fine.  She really appreciates it all... I thought I would share with you what she wrote to me last night...  God really is SO good...

Thanks, again!

E,

I went to the website you emailed me, it was a little difficult to find the blog, but I finally scrolled down to it.  It has been so wonderful to see how many people have just reached out to them in one form or another.  They've received prayer requests, gifts and checks from all over the US from people they've never met, but who have heard about Dylan.  So far they have not had any out of pocket expenses just because of the donations that they have gotten from complete strangers.  Never did we ever expect the kindness that we've experienced through this horrible time.  She was showing me last week while we were over there before he left for UCLA all the letters, cards, and gifts.  We both just cried going through them all, and I'm even getting a little choked up right now just thinking about it again.  And the prayers that have lifted him up and kept his spirits high are the most meaningful, without everyone's prayers he would not be where he is today.  I got to speak to him last night and he is just a mess.  I do have to say he is again starting to not eat much, but still hasn't lost his spunk and talked to me about riding his bike and how his mom just cannot get him the right thing to eat.  Then he told me he was done with me and I could wait for his mom to come back from the kitchen.  Geoff has the flu and was throwing up last night (not good).  Mandy said that she was going to ship him off to a friends today if he didn't go to work.

Thank you again E for all your prayers,
Leann

And now for the PHOTO! TAH DAH..... drum roll please......
DR DYLAN! THREE YEAR OLD CHARMER!

Subject: picture of D and his doctors

Here is a picture of Dylan and his doctors.  One of them is working on a publication about Dylan and his cancer and asked if he could take a picture of Dylan for the publication, so Mandy took a picture of all three of them.  Dylan loves his doctor coat, they even took him on rounds with them so he could show it off to the other patients.  On the pocket of his coat it reads; UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Franklin.  They love Dylan down there and who wouldn't with a personality like that.  He is back home again and his blood counts are dropping again, but he was out riding his bike this morning.

Pray for Baby Kaleb!

One of my groups got this email tonight. Please do keep not only Kaleb in prayer, but also his parents, for strength and protection of marriage, etc.

We should also pray for the person who did this, as hard as it may feel to do so.

There are many other videos there on Kaleb and his family. One that I  watched that really touched me, includint the words to the song (which I don't know) is this one:
(and the music  is perfect... anyone know what it is? )

Hey,

I have been following a heart-breaking story on MySpace, and I thought
that I would let you all know about it so that you all could pray for
this little boy. Here's a YouTube video that describes the situation
fairly well. Please remember that this was not made by his family.
I'm not positive how accurate ALL of the details in the video are,
but I do know that this is a real case. It has been verified on snopes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW1DikzhDFU

You can find his mom's MySpace page at:

www.myspace.com/kristyreynolds

Kristy posts updates almost every day. You can see her page without
being a member by just typing in the above address. If you are a
MySpace member, you can add her as a friend to receive regular updates
(it may take a couple of days for her to approve you as a friend).
This story has spread like fire on MySpace.

I have been hesitant to send this to the group because I do not know
this family or all of the details surrounding the investigation into
what happened to baby Kaleb. I do know that his babysitter is being
prosecuted for shaking him. I have just felt a nagging to send this
to you all so that you can include this family in your prayers, as well.

Please join me in my continued prayers for this poor baby.

God Bless,
B

Wanting to scream out loud in public!!!!!!!!

I have permission to put this in my blog from the author, "Debbie". It happened today, near Charleston, SC. My friend "J" had forwarded it to a group we are in together.

"Debbie" shares my long time feelings about PP. It always amazes me that people truly buy into the popular notion that it is a place that HELPS women, and poor, and minorities, etc, when its founder, Margaret Sanger was a well known racist and eugenics promoter. Regardless of the spin today's libs want to put on her work... like wikipedia has about her... the people she worked with and her own works bear this up.

God bless!

Subject: Wanting to scream out loud in public!!!!!!!!

For those of you who do not know, Lowcountry Parent Magazine is a free publicaton available nearly everywhere parents or children congregate.  They are supported by advertising.  They detail parenting information and have family oriented articles on current events, etc.  Well, I was sitting in the kids dentist office today and was skimming over a copy they had.  Apparently in a previous edition they requested readers to rate businesses, etc for them to publish the most popular family institutions in the lowcountry.  They had winners for restaurants, doctors, places for birthday parties, etc.  In the service category they had a sublisting for charity.  Can you believe the readers of Lowcountry Parent Magazine listed Planned Parenthood as the most family friendly charity in the Lowcountry.  PLANNED PARENTHOOD!!!!!!      I literally gasped when I read it.  I gasped so loud that others in the lobby looked my way.  In my astonishment I preceeded to announce to all those in the waiting room the reason for my shocked expression.  I must have appeared to be a raving lunatic.  Most just went back to their magazine.  A couple just shook their head.  Who knows what they were shaking their head at - Me or the ignorance of the community.  How can an organization who's purpose is to prevent families actually convince the public that they are the MOST family friendly organization in the community.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the largest promoter of abortion in the United States. Through their extensive sex education programs and their teen website, teenwire.com, PPFA targets youth and young adults, educating them that any and all forms of sexual expression are not only valid but encouraged.

Not only is Planned Parenthood responsible for countless abortions, leaving so many women hurting after the loss of their children, the organization is largely responsible for our culture's disintegrating respect for traditional marriage in exchange for "partnerships" and "sexual self-expression." The goals of Planned Parenthood are made painfully clear in the statement of Gloria Feldt, as quoted in the Washington Times, January 22, 1997, "Reproductive choices (including abortion) are not just legal rights but are recognized as moral necessities without which there can be no liberty."

We are doing something wrong!  I just don't know what to do!  I'm so angry!

Bush Vetoes Stem Cell Research Bill

The article below (all emphasis is mine, both color high lighting and bolding) is from today. Give an inch, they want more... I did not like it when he first said Fed funding could be used, and am not at all certain I like the new phrasing he gave today. But... THE LIES of the other side to make the unsuspecting people NOT SEE THE DIFFERENCE is also tremendous! EMBRYONIC stem cell research is making NO progress. ADULT and CORD BLOOD IS! We are NOT against STEM CELL RESEARCH. WE ARE AGAINST EMBRYONIC, in which you kill a preborn BABY to get those cells!
SEE The Fact Sheet listing 73 known proven uses for Adult vs NONE for EMBRYONIC....

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive......"  Propaganda is partial truth, and people buy into it so easily! It is easy to see how easy it was to deceive Eve in that Garden so very long ago.... and so it continues.

Bush Vetoes Stem Cell Research Bill

http://www.foxnews.com/printer_friendly_story/0,3566,284712,00.html
Wednesday, June 20, 2007

WASHINGTON
President Bush vetoed an embryonic stem cell research funding bill Wednesday and called on Congress to put aside politics and support legislation that would advance science without crossing an ethical line.

"If this legislation became law, it would compel American taxpayers for the first time in our history to support the deliberate destruction of human embryos," Bush said from the East Room of the White House, where he was joined by doctors and stem cell patients. "I made it clear to Congress and to the American people that I will not allow our nation to cross this moral line."

Bush's veto marks the third of his presidency and the second veto on a stem cell bill. Democrats don't have enough votes to override the veto. The vetoed bill would have eased restrictions on federal funding for stem cell research.

Alongside the veto, Bush issued an executive order on stem cell research to lay out the administration's position that it won't support new federal funding that would destroy embryos. The order will direct the Health and Human Services Department to conduct research into cells that could be used against deadly diseases.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid joined other Democrats in denouncing Bush's veto.

"He insists upon putting the politics of his narrow ideology ahead of saving lives. America deserves better," Reid said on the Senate floor. "President Bush's veto is a setback in our fight, but nothing will stop the will of the American people to give you the hope that you deserve."

Senate Democrats might try to get another form of the stem cell bill through by attaching it to the annual labor appropriations bill, according to a report in the congressional newspaper, Roll Call.

Senate Democratic sources told Roll Call that Sens. Tom Harkin and Arlen Specter, the chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and related agencies, agreed to tack the measure onto the fiscal 2008 spending bill for the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services.

On the House side, Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., also lashed out at Bush's veto.

"The president formed his opinion on stem cell research and now he has America ensnarled in a political straightjacket," Emanuel said. "The American people see stem cell research as a cure to illnesses that plague their family and family members."

"Bush needs to drop his veto threats and support life-saving stem cell research", said Rep. Michael Arcuri, D-N.Y.

"Stem cell research would give new hope to millions of Americans, families across the country suffering from life-threatening and debilitating diseases like Lupus, juvenile diabetes and Parkinson's," Arcuri said from the House floor before the president's veto.

House Minority Leader John Boehner released a statement of support for Bush's choice, saying Republicans have enough votes to sustain the veto.

"The president's veto today is justified for both moral and scientific reasons and it will be sustained by House Republicans," Boehner said.

Bush also won support from Republican senators who say other stem cell research is just as promising as embryonic stem cell research.

"Given the tremendous results that have come from adult and umbilical cord stem cell therapy in the areas of oncology and orthopedics -- and, more recently, in cardiology and neurology -- I am further encouraged by the possibilities these non-controversial, adult stem cells have to offer," said Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio.

"In this tight budgetary environment, in which there is a choke hold on our domestic discretionary spending, we must be vigilant in the way we appropriate taxpayer dollars and concentrate our resources on those lines of medical research that hold the greatest potential," he continued.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, a 2008 White House hopeful, told an audience at a forum of Democratic presidential contenders that the legislation the way it is written holds promises to fighting disease.

"Let me be very clear. When I am president, I will lift the ban on stem cell research," Clinton said at the "Take Back America" conference of liberal activists in Washington, D.C.

Clinton said Bush's veto shows the need for Democrats to win back the White House.

"This is just one example of how the president puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families, just one more example of how out of touch with reality he and his party have become," Clinton said.

Democratic leaders made the bill a priority when they took control of the House and the Senate in January. On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent out an e-mail letter asking for contributions to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to help elect more Democrats so the bill could be passed in the future.

"By vetoing a bill that expands stem cell research, the president will say 'no' to the more than 70 percent of Americans who support it, 'no' to our Democratic Congress' fight for progress, and 'no' to saving lives and to potential cures for diseases such as diabetes and Parkinson's," Pelosi wrote. "He will say 'no' to hope."

Bush vetoed a similar measure last year that would allow funding of additional lines of embryonic stem cells. The third veto of his administration came on a bill that would require setting timetables for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq.

The National Institutes of Health says stem cells raise the prospect of a renewable source of replacement cells and tissues to treat Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, spinal cord injury, stroke, burns, heart disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions.

Scientists were first able to conduct research with embryonic stem cells in 1998, the NIH says. There were no federal funds for the work until Bush announced on Aug. 9, 2001, that his administration would make the funds available for lines of cells that already were in existence.

Currently, states and private organizations are permitted to fund embryonic stem cell research, but federal support is limited to cells that existed as of Aug. 9, 2001. The latest bill is aimed at lifting that restriction.

Public opinion polls show strong support for the research, and it could return as an issue in the 2008 presidential election.

The executive order Bush is signing will expand the NIH embryonic stem cell registry to include all types of "ethically produced" stem cells, the White House said. It also will encourage scientists to work with NIH to add new "ethically derived" stem cell lines to the list of those eligible for federal funding, based on new research coming forward.

Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., has already proposed an alternative stem cell bill that passed the Senate.

"My stem cell bill, which passed the Senate with broad bipartisan support, offers a clear alternative for our colleagues in the House to significantly expand federally funded stem cell research, while ensuring no taxpayer dollars are used for the destruction of human embryos," Coleman said.

Bush said he would support funding for that measure or another proposed by Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga.

FOX News' Mike Emanuel and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Cardinal Pell to be interrogated by parliamentary committee

Seems like the attempt to silence Church leaders is not just an American thing! Cardinal George Pell of Australia is also facing the same thing down under.

God bless!

http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=9676
Cardinal Pell to be interrogated by parliamentary committee

Sydney, June 20 (CNA).-Australia's Council of Civil Liberties has slammed the idea of having Cardinal George Pell interrogated by a parliamentary committee over his comments on therapeutic cloning and stem-cell research, calling it absurd.

"George Pell is entitled to freedom of speech and to engage in political discourse,'' council president Cameron Murphy said.

"From time to time you get all sorts of religious leaders who make comments that are out of step with the community, whether it's George Pell or Sheik Hilaly, and I think in a democratic society you have to have a degree of tolerance."

The Greens Party yesterday won approval to have the cardinal interrogated by the parliamentary committee for contempt, reported The Telegraph.

Under the Crimes Act, contempt of Parliament is a highly serious offence punishable by up to 25 years in jail. The move, unheard of in recent history, was swiftly condemned as an absurd attack on free speech.

Cardinal Pell warned Catholic lawmakers last week that they would face religious consequences if they supported a bill allowing therapeutic cloning. The vast majority of MPs ignored the cardinal's warning and supported the bill, but numbers are expected to be closer when it goes to the Upper House later this month.

In an effort to muzzle the church leader ahead of the vote, Greens MP Lee Rhiannon pushed ahead with her contempt claims and yesterday won approval from Upper House president Peter Primrose.

Premier Morris Iemma and Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell, both Catholics who voted against Cardinal Pell's wishes, also condemned the Greens' push to have the cardinal interrogated.

Abortion advocate wants IRS to probe bishop who criticized Giuliani

More and more often, we find that when a member of the Church speaks Truth, others try to find ways to silence them. This is nothing new, but causes MANY to NOT DO SO, for fear of resulting investigations, for fear of losing tax exempt status, for fear of 'offending' someone. This Bishop has clearly stated exactly why the 'personally opposed, but...' argument is an error that permeates society today. I commend him. I stand by him, and a few others who have had the courage to BE what they are called to be as Shepherds, pastors. Fr Pavone has it right. We need MORE of them today, not fewer!

If a candidate 'uses' his Catholic faith to identify himself, but is clearly NOT following its teachings, that candidate needs to be corrected, privately, and publicly. Privately by any clergy or fellow Catholic who may come into contact with him, but publicly because his stand is a reflection on the teachings of the Church, and easily a cause of Scandal to those who are not as well informed. Our consciences are to be formed by Truth, not by 'our opinion', or by political correctness, or political expediency. We are called to be different, to be set apart... to be a Light to the World, not acquiesce to society's changing morals which decline greatly as time goes by.

God bless Bishop Thomas Tobin, and the others with courage to be what they are supposed to be!

http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=9663 Abortion advocate wants IRS to probe bishop who criticized Giuliani

Providence, June 19 (CNA).-A leading abortion activist has filed a complaint with the IRS in an attempt to silence Bishop Thomas Tobin, who said he could never support Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, who believes abortion should be legal.

In his May 31 editorial in the Rhode Island Catholic, the bishop of Providence, Rhode Island, called the former New York mayor's pro-abortion views "pathetic," "confusing," and "hypocritical."

"Rudy's explanation is a classic expression of the position on abortion we have heard from weak-kneed politicians so frequently in recent years: 'I'm personally opposed to but don't want to impose my views on other people.' The incongruity of that position has been exposed many times now," Bishop Tobin wrote.

The bishop said Giuliani's views lead him to think of the "sad figure of Pontius Pilate, who personally found no guilt in Jesus, but for fear of the crowd, washed his hands of the whole affair and handed Jesus over to be crucified."

According to LifeNews.com, Americans United for Separation of Church and State has filed a complaint with the Internal Revenue Service June 13, asking that the agency look into whether Bishop Tobin violated his diocese's tax-exempt nonprofit status.

In a statement, the group's executive director Barry Lynn said the bishop "appears to have violated federal tax law by attacking Giuliani."

"Federal tax law forbids non-profits to use organizational resources to support or oppose candidates for public office," said Lynn.

"If the bishop wants to join the political fray, he should do so as an individual without dragging along his tax-exempt diocese," Lynn said in the news release. "A church is not a political action committee, and it should not act like one."

IRS officials would not comment on the case until it determines if the complaint has any substance. The Diocese of Providence maintains Tobin did nothing wrong and did not endorse or oppose any political candidate.

Fr. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, has jumped into the mix as well, calling for more people to follow Bishop Tobin's suit.

"It is not Barry Lynn who is the problem," Fr. Pavone said. "The problem is that we don't have more voices like Bishop Tobin's.

"The bishops are, in fact, with us on this issue. Their legal advisors, however, draw the line of caution much more strictly than the government does, and that's what needs to change," the priest added.

"I'd like to hear what the same legal advisors would say if political candidates started calling for the abolishment of the Catholic Church and the imprisonment of the clergy. Would we find our voices then?"

touching article: Can't you give her a needle?

Can't you give her a needle?

A palliative care physician remembers an unexpected request from the husband of a dying patient.
I had met her at the main hospital. She had metastatic colorectal cancer. She had received extensive chemotherapy. Her disease had progressed and her options were rapidly diminishing. She was becoming thinner. I talked to her about palliative care and what the hospice had to offer. She agreed to come over to the hospice.

Later that week I saw her there. She was in a single room. She lay weakly. The bed covers seemed too big for her. Her mouth was dry. She spoke slowly. After discussing her symptoms I said to her that I thought her time was approaching. She said, "Well, what can I say?" I asked her what was the hardest aspect of her illness. She replied, "Leaving my husband".

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg

"Flip flopping" of political candidates is something that has happened many times, by many candidates. Usually, that 'flip flop' is on a postition. There are times when the decision to change one's mind on a particular issue is honest, based on changes in one's life, more knowledge on the subject, etc. But there have been very well known instances where that 'change' is politically correct in order to make the candidate more politically expedient.

One potential candidate has taken it JUST a tad further... NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg actually 'flip flops' PARTIES! (Remember he never truly did embrace the GOP platform in any way, shape, nor form).

Speculation that Mayor Michael Bloomberg was interested in a third-party presidential run was merely simmering last summer when he was asked about the idea of leaving the GOP and becoming an independent.

The billionaire mayor pointed out that the Republican Party had given him an opportunity to get elected in 2001, when he switched his lifelong Democratic registration to avoid a crowded primary.

"There's no reason for me to change my party at the moment," Bloomberg said then.

Apparently the moment has come.

After some six years as a Republican, the 65-year-old former CEO announced Tuesday that he has left the Republican Party and become unaffiliated in what many believe could be a step toward entering the 2008 race for president.

Joe Kennedy's First Marriage: Still On RIGHT ON!!!!!!

God is SOOOO Good!

Many years ago, when the book came out, I was one of the earliest purchasers of Sheila Rauch Kennedy's book, Shattered Faith. I cheered her on! Though she had some misunderstandings of what the Declaration of Nullity truly is, she was right on in most of what she said. Many disagreed with her, some even called her bitter, etc, but she was basically and essentially speaking truth, and she had MANY others that she had spoken to, including their stories in her book.

Today, she is vindicated, and it is now up to her husband to repent. He is, just as Jesus' has told us, in adultery.

Hard-nosed? Only to those who have a false sense of 'compassion', and buy into what society says rather than what Jesus says about the permanence and indissolubility of Marriage!

Debate Tactics

I was looking for an older column of Fr Wm Saunder's tonight, and came across a newly published article that I find absolutely impelling, and something that needs to be read for MORE than just the topic that is discussed, as important as it is!

Why? Because Fr points out debating tactics that are used in MANY different areas today for a VARIETY of topics that many people fall for!

Debating the  Embryo's Fate
By Fr. Tadeusz Pacholczyk
Herald Columnist

Fr states:
Having participated in a number of these debates over the past few years, I've been surprised by how often certain arguments are trotted out with great solemnity, as if they were obviously right and true, even though a casual observer can quickly recognize their notable flaws and inadequacies..... snip ....Another tactic that is sometimes used during debates about the human embryo is to try to dissipate the energy of the argument over many options.

I have heard the same tactics used in debates on no fault forced, unilateral divorce, on prolife issues, on euthanasia issues, on embryonic stem cell issues....and lately, EVEN on changing the focus of whom a prolife voter should vote for!

Read it simply for the message that Fr Tad is trying to get across, but keep it in mind the next time someone tries to get you to change your position of pro-life choices, and other very important ethical and moral issues, ESPECIALLY in this time of early political candidate cramming down the throat that we are getting to accept LIBERAL candidates in sheep's clothing under the guise of being safe.

Remember that one man sold his birthright for a bowl of pottage long ago. He regretted it.

Another First Day ...

Today is the first day that I have felt like sitting at my puter since last week for very long. (Blessed by God.)

I came home on Friday. So bravely saying last week that I would get to that Galloping Ghost Class of 67 Reunion at Tommy G's... I got there, by phone.... nauseated, tired, sitting at my puter sometime around ten or ten thirty pm... I reached them, and told them that I would RATHER be THERE WITH THEM...

U RAH RAH, KAUKAUNA!

And told our Alumni Rally mistress (classmate) Giovanna Russo Feller that I would also RATHER be with them on SATURDAY at Van Abel's in Hollandtown, too!

GO, GHOSTS, GO!!

But I did not make either. Yesterday was my weepy, pity pot day, and you REALLY did not want to hear from me.

Today, is good. Two sisters brought Mom to see me, so she could stop worrying ... even though she does not remember being told what she is worrying about, in spite of being told a multitude of times. We had supper together, with a sibling. The other sibling had to leave and get ready for work. Mom was a trooper up and down my sixteen stairs. (Actually, she did much better than I would do right now!! )

So, it was cancerous, a mass about 1.4 cm, encapsulated, nodes clean. As far as surgeon is concerned, she got it all, and nothing more is needed. However, she is not the expert in that field, so will have me see an oncologist for the final word. Keep praying.

More, however, pray for a fellow KHS GHOST who was diagnosed on my bday in April, with Multiple Myeloma, and is really having a hard time right now, currently down in Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee... and a young woman hit by a drunk driver awhile back who is now in rehab in Colorado, a NEW KHS GHOST graduate, recovering from neck fracture, serious. Also a young child and his roommate... Dylan and Pauline, each three, on chemo for cancer in California...and a friend in the adoption world, Mary, recovering from Cancer, a new author, to boot!

Subject: Dylan update.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Dylan is now into his third day of chemo.  This time he is taking two different drugs for one hour a day over five days.  Last time his treatment was three drugs continuously for 48 hours.  His blood count has gone down already and he has ran fevers off and on, but his spirits are still very high.  He has been calling me every night he's been gone between 9:30-10:30, don't ask me why so late.  I even tried to pawn him off on my mom last night so that I could go back to sleep and he didn't want to talk to my mom he wanted to talk to me about being hungry.  He is again rooming with Pauline the other three year old from Bakersfield who is battling lung cancer.  Together they are keeping both the moms and the nurses very busy.  Dylan should be home some time on Tuesday...  I will continue to keep you all informed as time goes on.  His doctor says so far Dylan has surprised him every step of the way and if anyone has a chance of beating this it is Dylan.  Our prayers are working.

God bless everyone,
Leann
