Here is the latest news on Dylan.  Praise be to God!  She sent me the picture on my phone and he looks terrific!  : ) I know the main test that they want to do is to check his bone marrow to make sure it is clear.  If it is, then they will know the cancer is isolated to just the area in his shoulder around the nerves. Thanks again for continued prayers!

Dylan had a very rough week after surgery.  He spent most of it on a ventilator and under sedation.  Yesterday things turned up though and he was taken off the ventilator.  They also took out his drainage tube, feeding tube, and IV.  The only thing they left was his pic-line, which is what they will use for his chemo.  He has been too weak for them to do any of the tests they needed to do before starting chemo, so as long as he continues to improve they will do the tests this week.  Last night Mandy sent me a picture of him eating a blue popcycle with a half smile on his face.  Again we send out our thanks to all of you who have reached out to help and pray for him.

I just wanted to let you all know that Dylan is now stable and now on the Pediatric ICU floor.  He is heavily sedated and on a ventilator.  Due to being on the epidural he didn't feel the need to cough and his lungs filled up with fluid and that was the start of what made him crash last night.  What lead to even more of the problem was that they didn't have the machines to help as fast as they should have since he was not on the ICU floor.  Good news he's stable as of midnight.

Okay,

I just got back in my in box the email update that I got this
morning from Leann regarding Dylan.

His surgery took 8 hours and he came out like a champ. They were able to remove the respirator in less than 30 minutes after he came out. They DID determine that there was cancer, though.... neuromastoma, or something like that... a nerve cancer. They said that it had NOT invaded the organs and the lymph nodes were clear, so that was good news. They got most of the mass out but there was still some remnants remaining in his shoulder area that they were not able to remove because it was so intertwined with the nerves. The plan was to kill it with Chemo.

Dylan was doing so well that they even took him out of the icu and they prepared for the long haul of what they were told would be probably a couple of months of treatments.

When I got home from Bible Study tonight, though, Leann called to tell me that close to 8:00pm this evening Dylan had coded and because he was not in the icu, it took some extra time to get him on a ventilator. About 10 minutes... That is the last word that they have had...

Please continue to storm heaven for this little boy and his family... thanks so much! As expected, the mom (Mandy) is a wreck....
