Terri .... documented evidence

Found an interesting blog today, with a page that has many different documents, including #29, the discharge summary from the first hospital Terri was in. Terri was never described as being in any vegetative state, but instead, was making progress, and intensive rehab was suggested. Terri had gone from being on a respirator to being weaned off and breathing on her own. Also, nowhere is there any reference to her being 'brain dead'.

Had Terri been brain dead, when they tried to wean her off the respirator, she would not have survived. Even back then, we knew the difference in hospitals between someone with NO hope of survival, and someone who could survive, and possibly gain in function with rehab.

Read the many articles there, including the ones reporting the fractured bones. Or go to Terri's website and read many there.

Terri does NOT deserve to die. She has been given an execution order without ever having committed any crime. And she has not been able to defend herself, NOR to have an attorney to defend her. Wonder how she'd make out on death row.... probably better than she is at her husband's, Judge Greer's and Attorney Felos' hands.

Terri has the right to have the brain imaging test that has shown that many people in this kind of state (also known as 'locked in state') are actually MUCH more aware than is generally thought. She also has a right to be tested again for swallowing before they kill her.

But Michael has taken all of her rights away from her, and Judge Greer has given his blessing to the evil that Felos advocates.

What is Michael afraid of?

Vigils in Florida for Terri

EMAIL From 2/25/05 4:14 pm :

Today, Judge George Greer ordered and adjudged that absent a stay from the courts, the guardian Michael Schiavo shall cause the removal of nutrition and hydration from the ward Theresa Schiavo at 1:00 PM, eastern time, March 18, 2005.

Judge Greer signed the order in his chambers at 2:50 PM on 2/25/2005.

He has allowed estranged spouse Michael Schiavo, who has demonstrated negligence of his duties as a guardianship and spouse, to now kill her.

Michael Schiavo as her husband failed Terri.
The medical system failed Terri.
The judicial system failed Terri
The Government failed Terri.

The only people who have not failed Terri are her parents, siblings and the thousands of wonderful supporters she has had come to her defense.

As a result of her inability to speak (due to Schiavo's denial of her right to receive therapy to help repair the damage that was done to her from the night of her unexplained injury)Terri now sits and waits her execution from the same man who may have possibly caused her brain injury.

Her will is to live. She has fought back on two occasions after he has tortured her by allowing her to lay for 7 days with no food and water.

If you think this is not painful, try going wothout food and water beginning tonight. See how many hours you can go before the pain sets in and you find yourself reaching for a drink of water.

What is his motive? It certainly has been established that it is not because he loves her. He has been carrying on in a relationship for well over 9 years. He has made two children with his concubine.

Is this fair? Is this America?

Where is the justice in the land of the
so-called FREE?

Please..let's not stop fighting for her now.
We have three weeks to all rise up to stop
her execution. Each and every one of us must pick up the phones and contact the senate.

See attached file for email names and phone numbers.

If you are local or are in a position to fly to Florida then please join us tomorrow and during all next week for protests.

John Grogan changed his mind about Terri.....

This is so heart-warming to hear! The highlighted red statements are my emphasis. Read on, and contact him if you will, to say thanks for this article......

John Grogan Second thoughts on Terri Schiavo
By John Grogan
Inquirer Columnist

Sometimes even newspaper columnists change their minds.

In the matter of Terri Schiavo, the permanently brain-damaged former suburban Philadelphia woman caught in a life-and-death tug-of-war, this columnist has changed his.

I no longer so blithely believe Schiavo's feeding tubes should be pulled and her life allowed to end. I'm no longer so sure her parents do not deserve a say in their daughter's future. I no longer am totally comfortable assuming her husband, Michael, who now has two children by another woman, is acting unselfishly.

That's not to say I have changed my opinion about the right of all of us to die with dignity when life has lost all meaning. But for Terri Schiavo, who lingers in a Florida nursing home, the devil is in the details, uncomfortable details that raise sticky moral dilemmas.

Detail 1: Terry Schiavo is not dying. She is not being kept alive artificially. Her heart beats and lungs breathe without help. She cannot swallow food or water. Once the feeding tube is removed, she would slowly starve to death over days or weeks.

Detail 2: Schiavo is not comatose. Her eyes open, and she sometimes responds to stimuli. Doctors say there is no brain activity and her responses are simply reflexive. Her parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, want to believe otherwise.

Unanswered questions
Detail 3: The Schindlers think their daughter could benefit from physical therapy and might someday swallow on her own, but her husband, as her legal guardian, reportedly will not allow it. Which leads to an equally uncomfortable question: If Schiavo merely required spoon feeding instead of tube feeding, would anyone seriously be arguing to withhold food and water? Does not every human, no matter how incapacitated, deserve sustenance?

Detail 4: Unproven allegations that Schiavo might have suffered physical trauma immediately before her heart stopped for several minutes in 1990, leading to brain damage, have not been fully investigated. The Schindlers have long suggested their son-in-law strangled their daughter; Michael Schiavo's lawyer says the abuse allegations have never been substantiated. Before pulling the plug on this woman, don't these questions need to be fully answered?

The abuse allegations against Michael Schiavo may be nothing but scurrilous rumor spread to damage his credibility. But what if there is even a tiny chance he is guilty of abuse? Should such a person be in a position to decide this life-and-death issue?

Last month, I wrote that Michael Schiavo's wish should be granted and his wife allowed to die rather than suffer for years in what the courts have deemed a "persistent vegetative state." I still believe Terri Schiavo, if she were aware today, would instruct us to not make her linger on like this.

Undisputed devotion
But she is not aware and left no written directives. So we are left to guess her wishes. Last month, I said we could look inside our own hearts and know what she would want. Today, with the latest stay barring the removal of the feeding tube set to expire in hours, I am less confident making such assumptions.

Who best to decide? In the murky mess that this case has become, we are left with one unwavering truth: Over the last seven years of fighting, Terri Schiavo's parents have proved themselves nothing if not fiercely loyal, utterly committed parents. They might be misguided. They might be in denial. But no one can argue their devotion. They have not given up. They have not stopped caring. They have not stopped loving. Who are we, as a society, to tell them they must?

Clearly, Schiavo's husband has moved on to a new life, and who can blame him? It's been 15 long years. But parents cannot move on. Parents cannot give up. Their child will always be the precious gift they brought into the world.

If the Schindlers want to dedicate the rest of their lives and resources to caring for their brain-damaged daughter, if they want to shower her with attention and affection she likely will never recognize, who among us will tell them they cannot?

It won't be me.

DENZEL WASHINGTON: One you won't hear in the news!

Subject: Denzel Washington---Another Story you won't find in the news!

I like to think this should be the way the world works, unfortunately it is aside from the norm.

Patriots are usually quiet, unassuming people who go about doing what they do with a heart filled with love and pride in their Country. Their actions speak louder than words.

Salute to you Mr. Denzel Washington, may your son and all of our country's sons and daughters come home safely! Thank you for a job well done!

Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas) the other day. This is where soldiers that have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the States, especially burn victims.

They have buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a hotel that soldiers' families can stay at, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled to the brim most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build. He got his check book out and wrote a check out for the full amount right there on the spot.

{ Washington has a son who is a Marine in Iraq. (NOTE: This part is not true per www.snopes.com )

What's really interesting is that the son of a rich Hollywood star is a Marine on the ground in Iraq, with little to no fanfare... }

Cardinal Clemens August von Galen

Cardinal Clemens August von Galen Approved by Pope John Paul II for Beatification
"a model of fearless opposition to euthanasia"

VATICAN CITY, December 21, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) -
Cardinal Clemens August von Galen, known as the "Lion of Munster", has been approved by Pope John Paul II for beatification, a step on the road toward being declared a saint in the Catholic Church.

Cardinal von Galen was best known for his stand against Hitler which was ignited mainly through his defeat of Hitler's program of euthanasia for the mentally and physically disabled. The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) welcomed the announcement of the German Cardinal's upcoming beatification.

John Smeaton, SPUC national director, commented: "Cardinal von Galen is a model of fearless opposition to euthanasia, and we thank the Holy Father for honouring such heroic pro-life witness."

Historians relate that Hitler's eugenics policy called for euthanasia of those with incurable diseases. By 1940 busloads of unsuspecting victims were taken to medical centers for extermination. Then-Bishop von Galen's famous August 3, 1941 sermon against the euthanasia program is regarded as a turning point in the war.

Using language today's pro-lifers will find very familiar, Bishop von Galen condemned the attempt "to give legal sanction to the forceable killing of invalids, cripples, the incurable and the incapacitated." He said, "Once admit the right to kill unproductive persons, then none of us can be sure of his life. A curse on men and on the German people if we break the holy commandment 'Thou shalt not kill'... Woe to us German people if we not only licence this heinous offence but allow it to be committed with impunity".

By the end of August the euthanasia program was cancelled. While Nazi leaders contemplated killing the good bishop, they were concerned about a public uprising given his vast popularity among the people.

The Killing of Terri Schiavo

Many good sites included in his words... and this valid point is made...check out those he has hyperlinked, as well as his article, by clicking on the title above.

"So what’s the difference between Sara Scantlin’s “vegetative state” and Terri Schiavo’s vegetative state? Not a whole hell of a lot. Sara responded to stimuli such as light and sound just as Terri does."

Emergency Stay Issued in Schiavo Case

DUNEDIN, Fla. — The case over a severely brain-damaged woman remained frozen in a legal stalemate Tuesday after a Florida appeals court first cleared the way for her husband to remove her feeding tube only to see a judge promptly block the removal until at least Wednesday.

Keep praying, and ask Cardinal August Clemens von Galen to INTERCEDE for Terri, as the Lion of Munster, defender of the victims of Nazi Germany's T4 program of euthanasing those in Terri's situation....

Write Gov Jeb Bush, Attorney General of Florida, and ANYONE who may help Terri... even write Judge Greer. Terri deserves AT THE LEAST to have brain image testing and swallow tests before they murder her by starvation and dehydration. She also deserves to have ALL of the circumstances that caused this to be examined prior to be murdered, if there is ANY possibility of allegations being true!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy Birthday,
To my daughter!

I watch you mother my grandson, and anticipate the birth of another grandchild, and I thank God you joined our family. He in so many ways reminds me of you as a little one, and I grin. Hard to believe that you are 27, it seems like yesterday we brought you home.

The same songs apply to you as to your brother, because in my heart, you will always be Forever Young and so will your children. The words of advice in both Forever Young and in I Hope You Dance apply equally to you. God bless you, tremendously!

Remember to read the songs on Feb 18th message, ok? Happy Bday!

Love, Mom
