Abraham Lincoln Quote

Abraham Lincoln's Proclamation For A National Day of Fast

"...We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven.
We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity.
We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has
ever grown.
But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand
which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and
strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness
of our hearts, that all the blessing were produced by some superior
wisdom and virtue of our own.

Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient
to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace too proud to
pray to the God that made us!
It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power,
to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness. "

Smart Man, that President Lincoln... God bless!

On Catholic Politicians

This article is also my open letter to Wisconsin local, state, and federal
politicians who are 'pro-choice' ....which in reality is pro-abortion.

When and if asked "What are you meaning when you say pro-choice?"
their answer would be circular... 'A woman's right to choose..'
But when pressed further by asking 'choose WHAT?' they have to
finally say the words

"A Woman's right to choose to have an abortion or not."

Ok, then let's call them what they really are.... pro-abortion.
They may try to say 'personally opposed, but'..... what they are
doing is being another Pilate and 'washing their hands of it'...

The author has also in this article used a favorite saying of mine
which fits this topic
AND...many others including Forced Divorce and remarriage, etc....

"Right is still right if nobody is right,
and wrong is still wrong if everybody is wrong,"
--Archbishop Fulton J Sheen author of The Life of Christ .
