God bless!!

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: E
Date: Dec 6, 2007 9:46 AM

Leann called and left a message for me yesterday afternoon.  Dylan's scan showed absolutely NO SIGN of cancer.  100% clear!!  She followed up with this email last evening...  Thank you, again, all, for your continued prayers...  : )

E

What a Christmas present.  I just continue to pray that they got every last cancerous cell in his body and that is is gone for good.  He will finish up his chemo through January and then will be scanned every three months for the next year.  The doctors even had a hard time believing what they saw.  They told my sister they truly never thought this day would ever come.  There wasn't a dry eye in the room when she was given the results.  God is so Good!!!

Walid Shoebat in Milwaukee Update

Oh, how I wish that I could have been there....

God bless!

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Shoebat.com
Subject:Milwaukee receives the Tip of The PR SpearFriends

Based on the media exposure last night, yesterday and the past week we estimate that over one million people heard about the Event in Milwaukee.

That is about two thirds of the population of Milwuakee Metro Area.

Last night nearly one hundred people were turned away as the Wisconsin room was packed with 800 people.

People traveled from a long way to attend and support. We know at least one person traveled 150 miles in wintery conditions to attend. We appreciate this greatly!

The MSA did themselves proud at the question and answer period, screaming obscenities at Walid which served us well amongst the audience who are not privy to the hatred of the Islamists in the USA.

Reminder that our Florida followers Feb 25th 2007 we run the Three Ex Terrorist program, in Melbourne. For tickets email kathymardi@cfl.rr.com  The price will be $16 each with VIP sponsor tickets $100. The location will be at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts.  For Islamists who get our email newsletter, please write to the center; they are expecting your mail and your calls.

For those interested in the media that covered the event: put Shoebat into google and then hit the news link above, all the recent media has been recorded there. Last night was covered by NBC, CBS and FOX TV.

Finally, the Israel haters know what is like to be on the reception of hard hitting truth! They can't take it but take it they will!!

Shalom

Wisconsin bishop alerts priests about "Golden Compass" movie

Wisconsin bishop alerts priests about "Golden Compass" movie

La Crosse, December 5 (CNA).-The bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse has sent a letter to priests cautioning them about the controversial new children's film "The Golden Compass."

In the letter Bishop Jerome Listecki explained his duty as bishop was to inform priests and laity about entertainment that is harmful to Christian belief.  He noted the self-proclaimed atheist and anti-Christian aims of Philip Pullman, the author of the trilogy on which the movie is based.

He described how the books were problematic, saying "instead of using fantasy to lead people to truth and to God, this trilogy tries to lead them away from God."

Bishop Listecki said that, despite the movie's qualities, "it is clear that this movie is the first part of a trilogy that expresses hatred of Christianity and that portrays God, the Church and religion as evil and oppressive and urges children to join fallen angels in a rebellion against God."

He urged his priests to warn the faithful, especially parents, about the series' attack on the Christian faith and the innocence of children.

The Diocese of La Cross website has published a question and answer sheet about the movie for parents.  It warns parents about desensitizing children to evil, and suggests telling their children the movie is "definitely poison for the soul."

A film reviewer working for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops recently praised the "Golden Compass" movie, and his comments were used in movie promotional materials. The advertisers for "The Golden Compass" took two separate quotes from the USCCB reviewer and created one sentence that appeared to endorse the movie as "an exciting adventure, entirely in harmony with Catholic teaching." The ad agency has reportedly said that the text of the ads will be changed.

Catholic Navy chaplain shares story of Iraqi conversion

Catholic Navy chaplain shares story of Iraqi conversion

Baghdad, December 4 (CNA).-Recently, CNA had the opportunity to send a writer to the Anbar Province of Iraq to cover the experiences of a Catholic chaplain working in the trenches. What follows is his recounting of the amazing encounter he had with this apostle in the desert.

Father Bautista: Apostle in the Desert
Joe Burns, War Stringer

A few weeks ago, I returned to the U.S. after spending a week with Army troops in Iraq.  More specifically, I spent six and a half days with my son's outfit, the 63rd Ordnance Company stationed at Al Taqaddum.  Al Taqaddum is a former Iraqi airbase, nicknamed TQ, and lies about 50 miles west of Baghdad in the Anbar Province near Ramadi.  My son Mike and I spent the first three days in Baghdad while I was processed for my press pass and then waited for a helicopter to become available to take us to TQ.

Al Taqaddum is covered in dust. In some areas where vehicles had repeatedly driven, the earth was ground down to a fine powder several inches deep (I was tempted to look for Neil Armstrong's footprints!).  The dust in this part of Iraq is so prevalent that it hangs in the air at all times of the day and night, clinging to clothing, nostrils and eyes.

On the second day at Al Taqaddum, I was privileged to attend Mass said by Fr. Jose A. Bautista-Rojas, a Navy chaplain who ministers to the Marines and soldiers at TQ and in the Ramadi area.  It was a hot, dry, windy and desolate day.

In the 30 minutes prior to Mass, Fr. Bautista discussed recent events of the day with the three of us: my son Mike, his commander Captain Tom Heilman, and myself.

Wisconsin Man charged -- after secretly giving girl friend abortion pills!!

This is not only cruel and inhuman, sneaky and underhanded, dangerous, and yes... evil, but it could have ended HER life as well!

Boyfriend charged with homicide for secret abortion pill dosings

Madison, WI, December 4 (CNA).-A Wisconsin man who caused two miscarriages by slipping abortion pills to his girlfriend has been charged with first-degree homicide.

According to the Associated Press, Manishkumar Patel, 34, is charged with first-degree murder of an unborn child and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.  He also faces counts involving food tampering, burglary, illegal prescription possession, and other charges.

The woman suspected he was secretly dosing her with the abortion pill RU-486, and sent a blood sample to a California lab for analysis.  She approached police after receiving a positive result.  Sheriff's investigators said Patel confessed to putting the drug in the woman's food without her knowledge.

Concerned Women for America President Wendy Wright called for authorities to investigate how Patel acquired the drug and criminally charge his supplier.

"This is even worse than we had imagined. We have warned that if the FDA approved over-the-counter access to the morning-after pill, it would be obtained by men and slipped to women without their knowledge. RU-486 is more dangerous than the morning-after pill. The FDA knows this and required it only be taken in medical clinics by women under 49 days pregnant -- which would require a medical exam to determine. It appears that abortionists are handing out the drug to people other than patients, including men," said Wright.

Concerned Women for America in a 2002 legal challenge presented evidence that the Food and Drug Administration's approval of RU-486 was illegal and put women at risk.  The organization charged that abortion clinics routinely violate the conditions for administering the drug.

CWA has asked the FDA to rescind its approval of the abortion drug.

Nervy? The Golden Compass promoters want to advertise in Catholic newspapers

Golden Compass promoters trying to advertise in Catholic press

CNA STAFF, December 3 (CNA).-The promoters of the controversial movie, The Golden Compass, are making an effort to diminish the boycott being threatened by Catholics and other Christian groups. The advertising agency for the movie has sent an email to the top 50 weekly Catholic newspapers asking that they consider running an ad promoting the movie.

Advertising Media Plus, the agency promoting The Golden Compass, is trying to use a review by Harry Forbes, the director of the U.S. Bishops' Conference Office for Film & Broadcasting, as leverage against the boycott being called for by Catholics and Evangelicals.

SNIP...

Interestingly, according to Mr. Forbes, "the religious themes of the later books may be more prominent in the follow-up films which Weitz (the producer of The Golden Compass) has vowed will be less watered down."

Sympathy for the Devil

By Lev Grossman

At 61, Philip Pullman is tall and handsome and pink-faced in that way that older Englishmen often are. His conversation easily ranges from theoretical physics to the work of John Milton. He's like one of those wise, stern-but-humorous uncles usually played in movies by Michael Caine or Jim Broadbent. He doesn't look particularly satanic. But then again, neither, probably, does Satan.

Pullman is the author of His Dark Materials, a trio of fantasy novels that has sold more than 15 million copies since the first volume, The Golden Compass, was published in 1995. It has been turned into a radio drama and a hit London stage play. A movie of The Golden Compass, starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, opens in the U.S. next week and will probably take its place in the pantheon of profitable fantasy franchises that includes The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter. But the most striking fact about Pullman's work is that his characters aren't fighting Sauron or the White Queen or Voldemort. Their enemy is the Christian church.

The email that came again today:

A Different Christmas Poem

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.

Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?", I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here.
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve.

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts,
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light.
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,

I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."
"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me."

"I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,'
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."

"My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile."

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
"I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home."

"I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother."

Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall."
"So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."

"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long."

"For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

PLEASE, Would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many people as you can?

Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities. Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.

Marriage Exception Matthew 19:9 - Porneia

Does the exception clause in Matt 19:9 allow for divorce from a Christian marriage and a subsequent remarriage ?

No.

I was researching Catholic understanding of 'porneia' and found this website for the first time!
I am glad his answer to the question was NO, also.

We seldom here this stated in today's world!

Another article on The Golden Compass

The Golden Compass Brings Nietzsche to Narnia: The Philosophical Underpinnings of His Dark Materials
by Marc T. Newman, Ph.D.

When parents look at the beautiful covers adorning the gift-boxed sets of Philip Pullman's fantasy series, His Dark Materials, they might be forgiven for believing that these books follow in the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings or C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia.

Reminder for Prayer for Dylan and family

Dylan with Baby Hope

An update on Dylan came again. A reminder to keep him and his family in prayer. He is a real trooper, and has already been through a lot in his short life!

His family also can use continued prayer... Mom, Dad, his two sisters, and extended family members like his Aunt Leann.

Dylan's story can be followed in full here, in a series up updates since the first request for prayer this past April 27th.

God bless!!

Leann went back to work last month, so I don't hear from her as much, but here is the latest on Dylan... I'm so glad that it seems they will have a Merry Christmas....
E

Good morning,

I just wanted to send out a short email on Dylan's treatments and how he is doing... So far so good, he's withstanding the every two week chemo treatments, and over the weekend and today he is having some more scans run to see what the spot on his lung looks like now that the radiation is completed.

He is always in good spirits and is looking forward to Christmas. He wants a remote control airplane, but we are having a little difficulty finding one he could work.

Finally, on Saturday while I was down there visiting him and my sister we went to the cafeteria to eat lunch and I had the privilege of meeting the doctor (Dr. Andy) that saved Dylan's life when we for a brief time started to lose him after surgery. When we saw him, he just picked Dylan up in his arms and gave him the biggest hug.

This was the first time I had gone onto the floor since his surgery in April and as one nurse told me, Dylan is the star of the floor, I got the chance to really see that. When they see that Dylan is coming for treatment they fight over who is going to get him. They truly love him there and boy he knows how to work them all. If one says no, he will find someone who will say yes.

His final treatment if all goes as it should will be January 26th.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Leann

Taken into Custody

An excellent review of Stephen Baskerville's book,  was sent to me by Bai

The Family in the Crossfire

A review of Taken into Custody: The War Against Fathers, Marriage, and the Family

by Dr. Stephen Baskerville

By John Horvat II

There is a war that is very little noted in the media. Like all modern wars, civil liberties and the lives of innocent bystanders, often small children, are at stake.

However, this war is not in some faraway land. It takes place inside America itself and is a war upon the family, especially fathers. In a well-documented 352-page book, Taken into Custody: The War Against Fathers, Marriage, and the Family, author Dr. Stephen Baskerville argues that a "divorce industry" favors America's epidemic of divorce, family breakdown, and fatherlessness.
