Husband steers into crash to save wife, unborn child

This moved me to tears... and all I could think of was ... "Greater love hath no man....."

Pray for this woman and her child, due in early November. May her Brian rest in peace.... Also pray for the others involved in this accident--the driver and passenger that survived, as well as the two men who also died.

Practitioner Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter, Killed Woman in Failed Abortion

Sadly, his sentence is not a tough one at all, but it is better than most get.

Two lives lost.

Even more sad to me, as an adoptive mother, though the victim was herself given LIFE, and adopted, she did not allow her child the same gift...

Two lives lost in what MOST think of as a minor procedure.

Not so. And the clinics are NOT held to the same standards that hospitals, etc are for any kinds of surgery. He had used anesthesia, and did not have oxygen.... ? He did not properly call 911, or do basic CPR? HE DID NOT EVEN HAVE A FUNCTIONAL BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF????

Two lives lost. Tragic.

Osathanondh faced 20 years in prison but the plea deal will result in less time and he will face sentencing today.

If Superior Court Judge Gary Nickerson approves the agreement, Osathanondh will serve three months in a county jail, nine months under home confinement with an electronic monitoring device, and three years of probation. The abortion "doctor" will not be able to practice or teach medicine, under the terms of the agreement.

He had his license revoked ......

The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine revoked Osathanondh's license after investigating the abortion death and Osathanondh gave up his medical license permanently following the decision.

So MY question is.... after his three years are up, will he 'choose' to move elsewhere and does he have OTHER State Licenses??

Oh, and I KNOW that a defense attorney must defend his client... but this is callous:

Osathanondh's lawyer, Paul Cirel, told ABC News this weekend that, while Smith's death is a tragedy, the abortion practitioner treated her properly.

"It's an unfortunate fact of medicine that rarely -- but sometimes -- patients die, even when they are being given the best of care," Cirel said.

The best of care certainly was NOT given in this case!!

I really have to say that I do agree with the family's attorney.........

David Angueira, who represents Smith's parents in the civil lawsuit, said both cases are the family's "quest for justice" for Smith.

"They firmly believe that this man is responsible for the death of their beautiful daughter and that he should be punished in accordance with the law for what he did," Angueira told ABC News. "They want to make sure that the medical community gets a very clear message that when you engage in medical procedures, they must be done properly and safely for the benefit of patient safety."

BUT.......

Again... TWO lives lost... what about justice for that very innocent baby?
