O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

WISHING YOU A VERY

JOYFUL,

Josh Groban - O Holy Night

An Irish Wish for a Merry Christmas

Repeating my wish from a couple of years ago:

Merry Christmas to everyone! Blessed Christmas to all!

Though I have used a picture of an Irish Santa this year,
please remember that HE is not the reason we celebrate
this Holiday (Holy Day)...
He is..... JESUS CHRIST.

The King of all kings, Lord of all lords,

Mighty God, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace.

Have a truly Holy Day in Him.

God Bless!

Pope Knocked Down by Woman at Christmas Mass
Thursday , December 24, 2009

VATICAN CITY"During the procession an unstable person jumped a barrier and knocked down the Holy Father," Benedettini told The Associated Press by telephone. "(The pope) quickly got up and continued the procession."

After the incident, Benedict calmly resumed his walk to the basilica's main altar to start the Mass.

Benedict made no reference to the incident as the service started. As a choir sang, he sprinkled incense on the main altar before opening the service with the traditional wish for peace in Latin: "Pax vobis" ("Peace be with you"). The faithful responded: "Et cum spiritu tuo" ("And also with you").

It was the second year in a row there was a security breach at the service. At the end of last year's Mass a woman who had jumped the barriers got close to the pope but was quickly blocked on the ground by security.

Benedettini said it was not immediately known if the same woman was behind Thursday's incident.

Maximum Achievable Damage

By Mona Charen

Does anyone remember the TV show "Supermarket Sweep"? Contestants would compete with one another by careening through a supermarket and grabbing as many products as they could toss into a basket. The winner was the shopper whose cart carried the biggest price tag when the bell sounded.

It's a fitting image for the way Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have handled the most important domestic issue of the decade. They've raced down the health policy aisles, sweeping items off the shelves and into their legislative carts, heedless of nutritional value, taste, or cost. As items dropped out on the hairpin turns, others were shoved into the spaces. Harry Reid inserted the Medicare "buy-in" at the 11th hour and just as quickly withdrew it under pressure. No organizing principle has governed the contents of their baskets (Pelosi added and jettisoned abortion coverage), just an urgent imperative to pass something. And now, as the clock winds down, they are declaring, as a journalistic cheerleader at the Washington Post put it, "a legislative feat of epic proportions."

Obama Approval Hits New Low With Pro-Abortion Health Care, Worse Than Bush

Worse than Bush! I hope it keeps going down, down, down....

Obama Approval Hits New Low With Pro-Abortion Health Care, Worse Than Bush:

"Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- President Barack Obama's approval rating has hit yet another new low in conjunction with the Senate preparing to approve his pro-abortion health care bill. The polling data shows Americans give Obama a higher disapproval rating than they gave President George W. Bush at the end of his second term.
In a new poll of likely voters released today, Rasmussen shows that 45 percent of voters say they at least somewhat approve of Obama's performance while 55 percent now disapprove of his performance.
The trend is downward as Obama's overall approval has stayed between 44% and 46% every day for twelve days. Prior to that, it had stayed between 46% and 50% every day for more than two months.
The Rasmussen poll also measures what it calls its Presidential Rating Index --"

EDITORIAL: Government's abortion mandate - Washington Times

I agree with this editorial! Especially:

"I don't ordinarily draw a line in the sand, but I have drawn a line in the sand," the Nebraska Democrat said on Dec. 4, promising he wouldn't vote for government health care if it paid for abortion. Mr. Nelson's principles barely lasted two weeks. By Saturday, he announced that he would provide the 60th vote needed to pass government care. The man's word is meaningless.

Mr. Nelson's capitulation was not over whether to ban abortion outright. The senator sold his soul to give government the power to force millions of taxpayers to pay for a procedure they view to be murder. Activists in favor of abortion "choice" don't respect that those who oppose abortion want to be free to choose what their money should be used to support - especially when major moral issues about life and death are involved.
