Fwd: Press Release

From Jane Brennan, a friend of mine who was among those arrested. Jane and Laura, both, are two women that I consider to be my friends. I am proud of them, and of their work.

I am also very grateful that Thomas More Society is helping them.... "GO, IRISH!!!"

Hopefully, Notre Dame will do as asked and ask that all charges be dropped.

God bless!!

Notre Dame: Prosecutor Presses Trespass Charges Against Pro-life Advocates

5/29/2009

Clarion Herald

Chicago-based Thomas More Society assembles a Fighting Irish legal defense team.

NOTRE DAME (Christian Newswire) - Thomas More Society attorneys appeared in St. Joseph County Criminal Court to defend two prominent pro-life advocates against trespass charges brought this morning by local prosecutors in the wake of protests at the University of Notre Dame.

Laura Rohling and Jane Brennan went onto the Notre Dame campus to educate students about the after-effects of abortion, based on their own personal experiences with abortion. Ms. Brennan, author of "Motherhood Interrupted," is a frequent guest on Catholic TV and radio. She serves as regional coordinator in Colorado of "Silent No More," a group which brings public attention to the plight of women who have experienced emotional and other pain after abortion. Ms. Rohling serves as assistant regional coordinator of that group.

"The Thomas More Society is urging the University to request that these trespass charges be dropped," said Tom Brejcha, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Society. "Such a magnanimous gesture will go far toward healing the divisions that have arisen between Notre Dame and the pro-life movement, in light of recent events."

The Society has assembled an all-"Fighting Irish" team, including President and Chief Counsel Thomas Brejcha, Notre Dame class of '65, Executive Director Peter Breen, Notre Dame Law class of '00, and South Bend attorney David Wemhoff, Notre Dame class of '79, in defense of Ms. Rohling and Ms. Brennan.

"What's vitally needed is dialogue about pro-life issues of abortion, stem-cell research, euthanasia, marriage, as well as about capital punishment and peace issues rather than confrontation in South Bend's criminal court," Brejcha continued. "The pro-life movement is the next stage of America's civil rights movement, and Notre Dame is not Birmingham."

The Thomas More Society has a history of partnership with the University of Notre Dame. The late Fr. Ned Joyce, former Executive Vice President of the University, was a regular financial supporter of the Society. Fr. Theodore Hesburgh, former President of the University, wrote fundraising letters in support of the Thomas More Society's successful defense of peaceable, non-violent abortion protests in the landmark United States Supreme Court case, NOW v. Scheidler.

About the Thomas More Society

More developments in Madison late-term abortion plan

I have copied the attachment below, as it did not come through on the email when I forwarded it.

God bless!

We've attached our second news release of today. Another UW internal email has surfaced in response to our latest ad appearing in the
State Journal.

U.W. Officials Squirm as Wisconsin Right to Life
Continues to Expose the Truth About Madison
Late-Term Abortion Plan

They Admit Employees Will be Forced to Participate
When Abortionist Dutton Butchers Women

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Wisconsin Right to Life has obtained an email sent yesterday by Pete
Christman, UWMF Executive Director to various UW officials regarding
Wisconsin Right to Life's most recent ad which appears today in the
Wisconsin State Journal. Christman stated he had viewed the ad by
visiting the Wisconsin Right to Life website. The ad can be viewed at
http://www.wrtl.org/pdf/WisconsinStateJournal_Ad3.pdf

The Wisconsin Right to Life ad exposes shocking information contained in
internal emails between various UW officials regarding the late-term
abortion plan at the Madison Surgery Center. The emails were obtained
through an open records request.

"Christman's email yesterday to his squeamish colleagues attempts to
quell their discomfort but instead, he has reinforced the facts that we
have been bringing to the publics attention," said Susan Armacost,
Legislative Director of Wisconsin Right to Life.

1. UW admits they will force employees to assist in late-term abortions
which is contrary to Wisconsin state law and to the public promises they
have made.

2. UW admits that late-term abortions are dangerous and that
abortionist Caryn Dutton could endanger women's lives but they are
pursuing these abortions anyway.

2. UW admits that late-term abortions are dangerous and that abortionist Caryn Dutton could endanger women's lives but they are pursuing these abortions anyway.

3. UW admits that late-term abortions are not medically necessary.

4. Christman states employees would be forced to participate in the case of an "emergency." But UW will not define "emergency." Because they have admitted these abortions are not medically necessary any actual emergencies that arise would have to be a result of abortionist Dutton causing injury to women or from the inherent danger of the procedure. Even Planned Parenthood has little confidence in Dutton's ability to perform late-term abortions.

5. Because UW has not defined "emergency," they will be able to define any abortion as an emergency and force employees to participate in an expanding number of circumstances.

6. UW is understaffing their late-term abortion plan to save money. They admit that the abortions are dangerous and that abortionist Dutton could seriously harm or kill women but they refuse to bring in enough staff to take care of actual emergencies. They are virtually guaranteeing that objecting staff will be forced to participate.

"The public, the Madison Surgery Center staff, and the patients who obtain their health care at this facility have a right to know the truth about the late-term abortion plan and the devastating and far-reaching consequences it will have," said Armacost.

Spritual Warfare by Fr Clement Machado

Spritual Warfare by Fr Clement Machado

Spritual Warfare by Fr Clement Machado

Powerful talk about Spiritual Warfare and the state of our nation by exorcist priest Fr Clement Machado. Given Nov 22, 2008.

Entry Date: 2008-12-14
Time: 47m 33s

A very powerful talk all Catholics should hear!  The speaker is exorcist priest Fr. Clement Machado and the topic is on Spritual Warfare.  In this eye-opening speech Fr. Machado talks at length about how the battle between Heaven and Hell is raging on around us, and how Satan is winning in our country right now.  Between the genocide of the unborn, and the election of Barack Obama, we have grown weak and need to rise up as prayer warriors, trusting in the powerful name of Jesus, our Blessed Mother, and St Michael.  This talk was given on November 22, 2008 in Chicago Heights.  Fr Machado is a true warrior for Heaven who isn't afraid to speak the truth.  The talk concludes with a very powerful prayer of exorcism and healing.

Bomb Attack on Kathmandu Catholic Cathedral

"This incident has greatly shocked whole catholic community", is the immediate reaction of Fr. Shilas Bogati, who was leading morning prayer when a bomb exploded in the Cathedral of the Assumption in Kathmandu.

Fr. Bogati was leading the congregation in the absence of the parish priest Fr. George who is aboard in India. Anthony Sharma, Apostolic Vicar for Nepal, is also abroad. "About seven months back – continues the priest - we had a telephone threat saying to stop all Christian activities and institutions, otherwise we will have serious consequences". He recounts that at the time they did not take the threats seriously even though they had been warned by police. The group behind the episode is the Nepal Defence Army, a movement linked to Hindu fundamentalism.

Two died in the blast, with many injured. There are estimates that 350-400 people were attending Mass that morning, three in serious condition. The bomb was apparently planted by a woman in black, who left her purse, saying she was going to the bathroom. Shortly after she left, the bomb exploded. She'd made sure that it  'was placed right in the heart of the cathedral to obtain maximum damag.'

Sadly, this is only one such attack on Churches today, worldwide. So much hatred.....
