My niece needs your Prayers, please.

My sister came over to Mom's while I was there, and was crying. My niece, Julie, was in a car accident last night, broadsided by someone who went through a stop sign. She is ok, but her baby did not survive.

Julie was seven months pregnant (did not know if it was a girl or boy, but was apparently supposed to learn that today.) She lost her baby.

Julie has been kept sedated because she is hysterical when not. MB could not get a lot out of her, and MB herself is not one to remain calm in this kind of situation. This was MB's second grand child, and Julie's first child.

Please keep Julie and Dave in prayer.

Julie is close to my son. Their babies were due within two weeks of each other.

EACH time Julie and Dave have any contact with Kev and Katie in the future, there will be a very visual reminder of their own baby... I cannot imagine the pain.

They live in out of state, so are not close to her family, either, which does not help either Julie OR my sister right now, I am sure.

Thank you!

God Bless!

Urgent! Help Block Tax Millions to Wisconsin Planned Parenthood

Got this tonight.... and I am disgusted that they could consider THIS kind of thing, but not get a budget passed in a timely manner!

Urgent! Help Block Tax Millions to Wisconsin Planned Parenthood

October 12th, 2007

Please forward this message to everyone you know in the state of Wisconsin.

In spite of efforts to block millions of dollars in tax money from being given away to Planned Parenthood, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle introduced a revised version of his proposed state budget that would allocate $15 million to expand the Family Planning Waiver program, so girls as young as age 15 can receive taxpayer-funded birth control without their parent's knowledge or consent. We find it extremely offensive for the government to sponsor such programs intended to undermine the rights of parents.

Expansions such as the one proposed by Governor Doyle could add millions of additional tax dollars to this program annually. While numerous organizations are covered by the Family Planning Waiver, Planned Parenthood is the largest financial beneficiary receiving approximately $6 million each year. If expanded, the Family Planning Waiver will likely generate significant additional revenue for Planned Parenthood, the state's largest abortion provider, and we know that tax money is what is keeping Planned Parenthood afloat.

For the sake of the young girls that Planned Parenthood exploits and the innocent pre-born babies that Planned Parenthood aborts, we must attempt to deny Planned Parenthood the millions of dollars that Gov. Doyle wants to give them.

There is not much time. The Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly could vote on Gov. Doyle's budget as early as Monday, October 15. Please do what you can to contact these people and get this information into the hands of everyone you know in Wisconsin.

Dominican cardinal receives guarantees that abortion will not be legalized

Dominican cardinal receives guarantees that abortion will not be legalized

Santo Domingo, October 12 (CNA).-Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez of Santo Domingo announced this week he has received guarantees from lawmakers that abortion will not be legalized in the country.

Cardinal Rodriguez threw his support behind a move by the National Congress to keep abortion illegal and said the decision "shows that the conviction that only God can dispose of human life exists in our lawmakers."

"The fact that our legislative houses are not legalizing abortion means that in many of these men and women in Congress there is a clear conscience that human life is sacred and that only God can dispose of it," the cardinal said.

He disclosed that during a meeting with Congressman Julio Horton, president of the Committee of Justice of the lower house, he was assured that the legalization of abortion would not be approved.

"We have the position that the legalization of abortion cannot pass in the House of Representatives and that is how most lawmakers have understood it," Congressman Horton said.

The cardinal announced that senators have also assured him that they will not approve it.

Turkey Recalls Ambassador to U.S. Over Armenian Genocide Bill

Thursday , October 11, 2007

AP

snip...

Earlier, the U.S. ambassador to Turkey, Ross Wilson, was invited to the Foreign Ministry, where Turkish officials conveyed their "unease" over the bill and asked that the Bush administration do all in its power to stop the bill from passing in the full House, a Foreign Ministry official said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make press statements.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee passed the bill Wednesday despite intense lobbying by Turkish officials and opposition from President Bush. The vote was a triumph for well-organized Armenian-American interest groups who have lobbied Congress for decades to pass a resolution. The administration will now try to pressure Democratic leaders in Congress not to schedule a vote, although it is expected to pass.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates reiterated his opposition to the resolution Thursday, saying the measure could hurt relations at a time when U.S. forces in Iraq rely heavily on Turkish permission to use their airspace for U.S. air cargo flights.

Relations are already strained by accusations that the U.S. is unwilling to help Turkey fight Kurdish rebels based in northern Iraq.

About 70 percent of U.S. air cargo headed for Iraq goes through Turkey, as does about one-third of the fuel used by the U.S. military in Iraq. U.S. bases also get water and other supplies by land from Turkish truckers who cross into the northern region of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Burying our Heads in Sand...Let's "Dialogue" ....

Tonight I was listening to LIFE ON THE ROCK on EWTN. The guest on the program was Immaculée Ilibagiza who is a survivor of the Rwandan Holocaust. The program, I believe, will air again on Sunday at 10:00 PM, but can also be viewed  online (or at least heard) in the EWTN Life on the Rock archives at some point.

Immaculée at one point spoke of how she just could not believe that people could do the things that were happening in her country, or that it ever COULD happen in her country. It was difficult at times to catch exactly what she was saying, because I am unaccustomed to her rapid speech and accent. I intend to listen again on Sunday, to try to catch it all again. And I am going to get her book as soon as I can afford it.

Just as she could not believe what was happening, there are many today living in a dream world about what is happening in the world. Just as the Jews and others in Europe in the thirties and forties could not believe what was happening, so too, today, many just do not see it coming again. Just as MANY back then placated Hitler, cajoled, pleaded, bargained, appeased.... so too, today, many are doing it again...

Immaculée's story may not SEEM to be related, but it is the same Evil presence that manifests itself .

That same complacency, that same ignoring of 'signs'... even blatant statements made by those in power (and not in power) allows it to rear its ugly head.

I ask you...

People truly still believe that we can "dialogue" with those who think this way?? TRULY?

"Nazis Resolved Great European Problem'
Hashemi Rafsanjani in a sermon said Hitler wanted to rid Europe of Jews because they were a 'pain in the neck.'

Hashemi Rafsanjani: Hitler Wanted to Expel Jews Because 'They Were a Pain in the Neck'

Thursday, October 11, 2007

Hashemi Rafsanjani, former Iranian president and current Chairman of the Assembly of Experts, said Friday that Hitler's treatment of Jewish people in Europe was due in part to their being "a pain in the neck."

Rafsanjani's comments came during a sermon for "International Jerusalem Day" on Iranian TV.

Video: Click here to watch Rafsanjani's speech (memritv.org).

Rafsanjani noted that Jews caused problems for European governments because they "had a lot of property" and "controlled an empire of propaganda." He also said that the Nazis were successful in saving Europe from the evil of Zionism.

The former Iranian leader served as president from 1989 to 1997, and was succeeded by Mohammad Khatami. Rafsanjani ran for a third term in office in 2005, but lost to current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Muslims demand use of Cathedral of Cordoba for religious services

Go to the site linked for the rest of this story, please. The good Bishop said NO last December. I hope that he continues to do so.

God bless!

During summit on "Islamophobia" Muslims demand use of Cathedral of Cordoba for religious services

Madrid, October 11 (CNA).-During a summit on "Islamophobia" organized by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Arab League of Cordoba in Spain, the secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, demanded Muslims be granted the right to hold religious services at the Cathedral of Cordoba.

The first day of the summit quickly became controversial when Moussa demanded that the Cathedral, which was once a Mosque, be made available for Muslim prayer.

Diocesan officials in Cordoba responded by reiterating the position Bishop Juan Jose Asenjo laid out last December when Muslims at that time made the same demands.

Halt embryonic stem-cell research and protect human life, insists the Pope

Emphasis added below by this writer. Embryonic Stem Cell research is NOT the same as Adult Stem Cell research which comes from Cord Blood, Bone Marrow, etc. Embryonic Stem Cells have NOT had any success, and requires the killing of a human being at a very early and vulnerable stage of life to accomplish. It is not good. It is wrong.

God bless!

Halt embryonic stem-cell research and protect human life, insists the Pope

Vatican City, October 11 (CNA).-Pope Benedict issued a plea to all scientists today to stop using human embryos for research because it violates their God-given human dignity.

The head of the Catholic Church made his appeal specifically to South Korea, which has been in the international spotlight for its burgeoning bio-medical field over the last couple years, particularly in the area of stem-cell research.

The Holy Father spoke about the matter with South Korea's new ambassador to the Holy See, Francis Kim Ji-young. He noted that South Korea "has achieved notable successes in scientific research and development," especially in biotechnology which has "the potential to treat and cure illnesses so as to improve the quality of life in your homeland and abroad."

However, Pope Benedict was adamant in condemning the destruction and manipulation of embryonic humans: "discoveries in this field invite man to a deeper awareness of the weighty responsibilities involved in their application," and "under no circumstances may a human being be manipulated or treated as a mere instrument for experimentation."

He continued his warning saying, "[t]he destruction of human embryos, whether to acquire stem-cells or for any other purpose, contradicts the purported intent of researchers, legislators and public health officials to promote human welfare."

Making sure that people realize that the he is not against all forms of stem-cell research, the Pope pointed out that the Church does not hesitate to approve and encourage somatic stem-cell research: not only because of the favorable results obtained through these alternative methods, but more importantly because they harmonize with the aforementioned intent by respecting the life of the human being at every stage of his or her existence."

The admonition from Pope Benedict comes as South Korea announced plans earlier this year to remove some of the blocks to human embryonic stem-cell research in place since a 2006 scandal involving forged data in stem-cell studies.

Dylan Updated Belatedly

I had to buckle down today and bring you up to date on Dylan, including the pictures that were sent recently. Please keep this little boy and his family in prayer. For the rest of this little fighter's story, go here....

Dylan With Hope
(that is the title given by Em--IMHO, well spoken words)

Sept 14, 2007
Dylan and Baby Hope
Leann just sent me these...(I am posting only one of the two sent, as they were the same, but from different distances)
Dylan has been pretty weak and so not able to see his new cousin yet... Today he FINALLY got his chance! He is THRILLED with little "Hope Dylanie", can't you tell? God bless them both! I think she gives him "hope"...
Em

Dylan's turned for the worse...
Sept 19
Leann called while I was out today. Dylan has been taken to Kern Medical Center and will possibly be flown to UCLA.
He hasn't walked, talked or eaten in three days... Please say some prayers... bless his little heart...

Thanks.
Em

Dylan's home
Sept 21, 2007
Dylan is back home. His counts are raising back up now with the transfusions, but his spirit to fight still remains low. His been able to finally get some rest, so time will tell. It is all up to him now.... Thank you for all your prayers, Leann

Dylan today...
Oct 4, 2007
At Dylan's request, Leann took him down south for his radiation this morning. Luckily, she had her camera with her to capture this. This kid is SO inspiring! Thank you all, AGAIN, for the prayers... as you can see, they DO work... He had chemo last monday, so next week will probably be another "tough one" with blood transfusions, etc... But we just keep praying him through each and every time... Even the Dr.'s have told his mom that they are SO happy to see he keeps coming back stronger than ever, despite what all the paperwork says... God is good...
Em

Dylan With Radiologists

Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2007 1:11 PM

Here is a picture of Dylan taken this morning just after he completed his 13th treatment of radiation. With him are his three radiation doctors. They are so good with him and I could see this morning how much they truly care for him. He has 17 more treatments of radiation and then chemo through February. He continues to fight with a smile on his face even through the toughest of days.

God bless!

The Mom Song -- Anita Renfroe

Oh, how I love this!

They say that laughter is a very healing remedy ...and I have been playing this, and laughing uproariously everytime I do! Each time, I hear something else I may have said (or close to it, since there were no iPods back then...LOL)

I also found the lyrics here .... maybe by the time I am 75 (about the same time I graduate with my Bachelor's) I will have learned all the words with the same speed she can sing them! (Going to go and practice it one more time after I post this....since I love the William Tell Overture already, this is going to be one of my all time favorites! )

ENJOY!!! And God bless!!

PS (Addendum at 1:00 PM same day)... Scroll down to UNDER the lyrics! I had put them ABOVE the lyrics, but that isn't the way it came out... oh, well...

Lyrics:

Get up now
Get up now
Get up out of bed
Wash your face
Brush your teeth
Comb your sleepyhead
Here's your clothes and your shoes
Hear the words I said
Get up now! Get up and make your bed
Are you hot? Are you cold?
Are you wearing that?
Where's your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and gloves and your scarf and hat
Don't forget! You gotta feed the cat
Eat your breakfast, the experts tell us it's the most important meal of all
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at 3 today
Don't forget your piano lesson is this afternoon so you must play
Don't shovel
Chew slowly
But hurry
The bus is here
Be careful
Come back here
Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside, don't play rough, will you just play fair?
Be polite, make a friend, don't forget to share
Work it out, wait your turn, never take a dare
Get along! Don't make me come down there
Clean your room, fold your clothes, put your stuff away
Make your bed, do it now, do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn? Would you like some hay?
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone! Get off the phone!
Don't sit so close, turn it down, no texting at the table
No more computer time tonight!
Your iPod's my iPod if you don't listen up
Where are you going and with whom and what time do you think you're coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You'll appreciate my wisdom someday when you're older and you're grown
Can't wait till you have a couple little children of your own
You'll thank me for the counsel I gave you so willingly
But right now I thank you not to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew, would appreciate
Take a bite maybe two of the stuff you hate
Use your fork, do not burp or I'll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an A, get the door, don't get smart with me
Get a grip, get in here, I'll count to three
Get a job, get a life, get a PHD
Get a dose of,
"I don't care who started it!
You're grounded until you're 36"
Get your story straight and tell the truth for once, for heaven's sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff would you jump, too?
If I've said it once, I've said at least a thousand times before
That you're too old to act this way
It must be your father's DNA
Look at me when I am talking
Stand up straighter when you walk
A place for everything and everything must be in place
Stop crying or I'll give you something real to cry about
Oh!
Brush your teeth, wash your face, put your PJs on
Get in bed, get a help, say a prayer with mom
Don't forget, I love you
And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom's work never ends
You don't need the reason why
Because, because, because, because
I said so, I said so, I said so, I said so
I'm the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom!!
Ta da!!!

Others' blogs

Ok, so tonight I took the time to read a few other blogs.

I found a
good one on Adoro te Devote's.

From there, I ended up at The Ironic Catholic, and read this one.

Within the comments (by angelmeg) I read:

God is good, all the time.

Even when He is taking us somewhere we don't want to go
for reasons we cannot comprehend.

Read my last post here, and see why that little comment means something to me...smile.
