Ashley’s Treatment was a Travesty
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have read the parents’ blog, and concur with Ed Peters. Regardless of what the parents say about doing this for Ashley, I will never be convinced that it was for any reason other than their own convenience. I find this absolutely appalling, and as far as I am concerned, it is child abuse. And pumping their daughter with high-dose estrogen therapy to inhibit growth is outrageous.
They have a really 'well thought out' "justification" for their actions, including that none of us can know 'unless we live with it'. Those of us who have been care-takers can certainly know what it is like to take care of adults like their ‘pillow angel’.
Rationalization and justification. That is all it is!
They also have photos on their site. They have no problem showing Ashley.
But all other family members are hidden.
Archbishop Sheen has an answer for this:
and wrong is still wrong if everybody is wrong,

And so does Thomas Huxley and Chuck Colson:
It is not who is right, but what is right, that is of importance.
~~Thomas H. Huxley
Truth matters, and the truth is we are creatures made in the image of a loving God, and life has an ultimate value. So beware of the smooth-talking philosophers in our midst. Their position may seem very appealing and even logical. But it’s a deadly logic.
~~Chuck Colson
God Bless!
