I am still so overjoyed by this news!!! I was working with the father trying to get more publicity for the case (I found out about him from my friend Kelly Jolkowski who runs Project Jason...she first contacted me about his case).
I wish you could've read his words about his son. They were so filled with desperation, frustration, but he always had hope. There were days, though, that my heart broke for him because you could just sense his utter despair.
After the death of Tamika Houston, whose aunt I corresponded with for a story while she was still missing, I was so depressed.
So this news is very uplifting.
Ever since I got involved with this cause I've gotten to experience how families feel while they're searching for loved ones (my house was flooded with phone calls, and my email inbox was filled up, from desperate family members and loved ones when I did a story on this issue), to see the despair when their loved one is found dead (along with a bittersweet relief of finally having a resolution to the case), to cases like this, where there is joy and celebration.
I am still praying so hard for Kelly and her missing son Jason, though. If you haven't already, take a look at her blog and foundation site (they're both in my links on my sidebar...Project Jason and Voice for the Missing).
She is an amazing woman and, despite her suffering has worked SO hard to help these families.
I wear Jason's photo on a button on my purse wherever I go (I adopted him through their Adopt a Missing Person program) and it actually works because I've had someone ask about him in detail, while I've watched others stare at the button for awhile.
Okay, enough rambling from me. I am just so moved by this cause and feel so much sympathy for these families.
I have read about Jason, and also pray he is found. We have a missing pregnant woman here in Wisconsin, too. And another who has been missing for years, now. Sadly, one of the missing children here in Wisconsin was the two year old daughter of a former babysitter for my kids. They convicted the man who murdered her after taking her out of their home via her bedroom window.
So I am VERY glad that they found this young boy and brought him home safely to his Dad. And I hope that he was not hurt in any way (emotionally was bad enough)
