Wasinger Demands Napolitano Resignation
Says Homeland Security Secretary has failed miserably
COTTONWOOD FALLS -- Today, Rob Wasinger, Republican candidate for Congress in the first district of Kansas, called for the resignation of Janet Napolitano, United States Secretary of Homeland Security.
"Immediately following the failed Christmas bombing of a Northwest Airliner headed to Detroit, Secretary Napolitano was completely silent," said Wasinger. "When Napolitano finally spoke up, she claimed the 'system worked,' and just 24 hours later reversed herself and said the 'system failed miserably.' Napolitano has failed miserably as Secretary, spending her time waging war on Obama's political opponents instead of protecting our country from radical jihadists that seek to wage war on our American way of life. This is Napolitano's second strike given her poor mishandling of the attack on Fort Hood, and we simply cannot risk a third strike. Therefore, I call on Secretary Napolitano to resign immediately and demand that the President appoint a qualified national security expert who will do their job to ensure that Americans are confident in our government to keep America safe."
Wasinger is former chief-of-staff to Sam Brownback, where he worked on critical National Security issues affecting Kansas and the nation, including Fort Riley, the McConnell Air Force Base, and the Kansas National Guard. Wasinger witnessed Flight 77 moments before it hit the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
