Rudy's 'Word on the Issue"

I am sitting here listening to Pat Robertson explaining why he is backing Rudy for President, and all I can think of is... WHAT?

I really need to find a transcript of his words. I cannot believe that his basic underlying premise is that Rudy has 'given us his word' that he will appoint Constitutional Justices to the US Supreme Court. His word, huh?

One of the statements was to the effect that Rudy has told the public and given us his word on this issue.

Hmmm, Rudy has also apparently 'given his word' a few other times before, publicly, and not kept those promises--Vows. So why should we believe him now? This man is 'personally opposed, but...' on issues that are VERY important to me. Another friend of mine said that in announcing that he was supporting Rudy last week, he described Rudy as a 'devout practicing Catholic'.

I didn't hear the announcement, so missed that statement. But it infuriates me, if this is his estimation of a devout PRACTICING Catholic.

Rudy appointed 75 Judges to 3 different courts while Mayor of New York, and Democrats outnumbered Republicans 8:1 according to Alan Colmes. Of those he appointed, one of them was head of International Association of Lesbian and Gay Judges, also according to Colmes. "I'm just taking him at his word", replied Robertson, "as to what he would do as President."

HHHMmmm. I bet both the first and the second Mrs Guiliani's also '"took him at his word", as does number three....

A former president of the US once said,

"A man who would lie to his wife would lie to me,
and a man who would break his marriage vows would break his oath of office."
~~I have been told that this was Harry S Truman, and am looking for verification

"So when you make a promise (or a VOW) to God,
don't delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools.
Keep all
the promises you make to him. It is better to say nothing than to promise
something that you don't follow through on.
In such cases, your mouth is making
you sin.
And don't defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger
that the
promise you made was a mistake.
That would make God angry, and he might wipe
out everything you have achieved."
~~ Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 New Living Translation

Thank you for posting your thoughts. I could not agree more. I was horrified when Robertson described Giuliani as a devout Catholic. I am tired of the liberal media and some Protestant leaders always trying to portray Catholics as pro-abortion liberals like the Kennedy's and Giuliani.

Yes, when I heard that Robertson had said that, I was furious. The Kennedy's have long been held up to us as 'good Catholics' (some may be), as have the Kerry's, and so many in the Senate and Congress.

They aren't.

Fellow Wisconite! Gotta LOVE our Packers!!

God bless!
