108 yr old Fond du Lac WI Sister's 90th Jubilee!!

A 108-year-old sister is preparing to celebrate her 90th anniversary of religious life this month.
Sr. Claude Feldner of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes will join 45 other sisters on July 15 as they celebrate their jubilee anniversaries at Holy Family Sacred Heart Church in Fond du Lac.

She made her first profession the same month and year my God mother was BORN! WOW!

"They didn't think I would live this long," she told the newspaper. "I was threatened with tuberculosis as a young woman and was sent to Kansas to heal. At that time, they thought a dryer climate would help a person. It must have worked because here I am at 108 years old ready to enjoy a party."

God BLESS you, Sister Claude!

What does it feel like to be 108 years old and ready to celebrate 90 years of commitment to religious life? For Sr. Claude Feldner, a member of the Congregation of Sisters of St Agnes, it is a time of gratitude and surprise.
In her words "They didn’t think I would live this long. I was threatened with tuberculosis as a young woman and was sent to Kansas to heal. At that time, they thought a dryer climate would help a person. “It must have worked because here I am at 108 years old, ready to enjoy a party. I plan on showing up and celebrating with other sisters who are celebrating their jubilee anniversaries on July 15th. I also am looking forward to eating cake!"
"This is truly a unique and historical milestone for Sr. Claude, and for us as a community," said Sr. Joann Sambs, general superior of the Sisters of St. Agnes. "Our jubilee celebration is always a festive time of praise and gratitude. The blessing of Sr. Claude’s long and faithful life among us multiplies our joy!"
Sr. Claude made her first profession in 1917. Over the years she taught music at the grade school level, as well as at Marian College in Fond du Lac. She continues to enjoy playing the piano and plays almost daily. She also served for many years in formation ministry for the congregation, preparing young women for religious life.
Sr. Claude will be joined by 45 other members celebrating a jubilee liturgy at Holy Family-Sacred Heart Church in Fond du Lac on Sunday, July 15. The jubilarians represent more than 2,500 years of faithful service as women religious. They serve in the fields of education, health care, social work, and pastoral ministry across the United States and Latin America.
