Somebody 'Splain It To Me......
Can someone explain to me exactly HOW any DNA testing on left-over blood from Princess Diana's remains (autopsy) could POSSIBLY tell anyone if she was pregnant at the time of her death or not? I don't get it, but have heard it twice today on the news.
Conspiracy theorists about her death abound, and probably always will. But the one today was again that she was pregnant and the 'racist' Prince Phillip could not stand the idea of a Muslim baby being born into the Royal Family. Have heard it before...and before... and before...
In looking for a few 'examples' of conspiracy thinking articles, I also came on this one which alludes to embalming 'only the top half of her body'... so, Ok, now I am asking TWO questions:
1 HOW is any DNA test going to tell anyone if she was pregnant or not??
2 HOW does one embalm only part of a body??
Maybe it is just me, but neither statement makes any sense to this old nurse....
May she rest in peace.

Dear WIC,
I think perhaps they would test what remains of her womb. If there is DNA that is other than her own, then she was pregnant. Plus, maybe (I don't know) tissue samples of her uterine wall might reveal pregnancy; as might the presence of certain hormonal levels. But I have no idea, really. I am stumped. One wonders why we need to know this sort of thing about Princess Diana's life now that she is gone. It seems so stinking prurient, in a way.
Peace to you,
BG
The woman speaking on Kimber Guilfoyle's program specifically said 'blood' sample. Tissue... well, possibly, but if they checked the uterus, they could see a baby/fetus/placenta. Hormone, yes, that would be a possibility, but again, that would/should have been done at autopsy. And, the woman said DNA several times in the course of the interview.
totally has ME stumped. And I agree... it seems that it is time to accept that she is gone. From what I understand, it is still Dody's father who is pressing this.
Peace to you, too! God bless!
